About

[Songwriting Zen]

It’s a well known fact that a constant supply of great songs is the lifeblood of the global music industry. No matter how you look at it, it’s the songwriter who is the most important part of this global music industry machine.

Its search for new material is ravenous.

Without great songs being written, recorded and marketed, the global music industry will die a slow and painful death.

If you have just started writing songs or you have been walking the creative path for a while you will find information on this site that will help you to write more songs, get in touch with your muse and stay on your chosen path.

Why Songwriting Zen?

When I first started over twenty years ago there was no real information anywhere about songwriting and the global music industry as a whole. I had to learn the ropes the hard way, which meant I made lots and lots of mistakes.

However, in doing so I also learnt a lot along the way.

My aim with Songwriting Zen is to create the songwriting resource I never had at my disposal when I started my songwriting journey.

It’s also my aim to provide you, the songwriter with the services, information and knowledge that will enhance your ability to write songs and have the confidence to share them with the world.

This is why Songwriting Zen exists.

[Corey Stewart]

My name is Corey Stewart and I am a singer/songwriter/musician from Australia. Songwriting Zen is my way of showcasing my music to the world.

I have performed in countless bands, written hundreds of songs, played thousands of gigs, toured most of Australia and in between all that, made many friends and experienced all the highs and lows of being a professional musician.

I discovered early on in my career that I have a passion for helping other songwriters and musicians to be the best that they can be.

In pursuing this passion, I have been involved with judging many songwriting contests and band competitions, taught guitar and bass and worked in recording studios as a session musician for hire.

To me, Songwriting Zen is an extention of that passion.
